I appropriate objects and images from shopping centers to create surreal and satirical renditions of consumer and advertising landscapes. Using photography and lidar scanning, I collect images and digital 3D models from advertisements, store displays, discarded products, and single use packaging to display the ever-shortening lifecycle of various consumer products with most of my attention being turned to plastics. I also create molds out of discarded materials that reference influential consumer objects of my childhood. These objects become tools in building both physical and digital worlds that satirize and provide awareness of marketing strategies, while also acting as a way to process my reliance and attraction to consumer objects from an early age. Following in the tradition of culture jamming practices, I construct ways to encourage public engagement while recontextualizing objects and materials for the purpose of critique.
